Pre-competition training of 2nd Yunnan International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition continues in South, Southeast Asia
Since October, the related activities of the second Yunnan International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, including pre-competition training, have expanded beyond borders and continued in countries of South Asia and Southeast Asia, generating widespread attention from overseas innovators and entrepreneurs.
On the afternoon of October 11th, the pre-competition training for the 2nd Yunnan International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the Yunnan-Overseas Industry Exchange Forum was held at the Northern Science Park (NSP) building in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This meeting attracted nearly 1300 participants from Thailand and other overseas countries through online and offline channels.With a focus on "Agricultural Technology and Food Technology", representatives from relevant departments, institutions, associations, companies, and universities in Thailand and Yunnan were invited to provide policy interpretations, project showcases, and share their experiences. Additionally, Thai innovators and entrepreneurs enthusiastically introduced their own projects and engaged in lively exchanges and interactions with experts.
On the afternoon of October 20th, the pre-competition training session for the South Asia and Southeast Asia regional semi-final of the 2nd Yunnan International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held online. The event, organized by the competition organizing committee and supported by BLOCK 71 Singapore, attracted innovation ecosystem partners and participating contestants from Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, as well as some South Asian countries.
During the training session, representatives from the competition organizing committee delivered an English presentation highlighting the advantages of Yunnan Province in terms of its resources, geographic location, and openness. They provided a detailed overview and interpretation of the competition's objectives, as well as information and guidelines for participation, helping attendees gain a comprehensive and systematic understanding of the competition and prepare themselves for participation.
After the informative presentations, the development opportunities in Yunnan Province have garnered widespread attention from participants in various fields such as biomedicine, modern agriculture, new materials, green and sustainable development, cultural tourism, and health. Enthusiastically, they have actively reached out to the organizing committee of the competition to seek information and express their intention to participate, with a strong desire to compete for the valuable support of incubation services.
The registration deadline for the South Asia and Southeast Asia regional semi-final is October 27th. After completing the registration and submitting the required documents, the semi-final in Singapore, which will be the first overseas competition, is scheduled to take place on November 3rd at BLOCK 71 in Singapore. Participants have the opportunity to receive global exposure, training courses at Tsinghua University, a series of business networking events, connections with global investment institutions, and collaborative incubation with partner organizations of the South Asia and Southeast Asia competition.
As per the schedule, Yiiec Training Lectures titled "Innovation Application: Transformation Innovation Achievements" will be held online on October 27th from 19:00 to 22:00. Tan Hongxin, the Chief Engineer of Tsinghua University Technology Transfer Institute, will deliver a lecture on the system and practice of technology transfer and achievement transformation at Tsinghua University, as well as topics such as technology commercialization (achievement transformation) and intellectual property rights in technology transfer.

Yunnan International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is hosted by several provincial-level departments in Yunnan Province, including Department of Science and Technology of Yunnan Province. YIIEC is a platform specifically designed to provide practical entrepreneurial incubation benefits for international innovators and entrepreneurs, it leverages the unique geographical advantages of Yunnan and the corresponding policy support to accelerate the development of a technology innovation center facing South Asia and Southeast Asia. YIIEC aims to firmly establish Yunnan's strategic position as a talent-driven development hub, attracting outstanding talents from both domestic and international sources to innovate and start businesses in Yunnan.
