From Nov.5 to 10, the 6th China International Import Expo(CIIE) was held in Shanghai. Yunnan's pavilion, themed "Inheriting Openness, Diverse Yunnan," attracted visitors.
Yunnan Lufeng Dingxin Cuye Co., Ltd. showcased products such as pear vinegar, additive-free vinegar, and flavored vinegar. "We've had quite a few customers in the past days, including bulk buyers from provinces like Shandong," said Li Jialiang, the booth manager. Their products are mainly sold in Shanghai, Zhejiang and exported to Japan.
It was the first time for Tuodong Soy Sauce to participate in CIIE. Li Yan, the manager of Yunnan Tuodong Weiye Food Co., Ltd., explained that Tuodong rolled out additive-free soy sauce products. Additionally, the company actively connects with businesses in Shanghai and Beijing, enhancing brand influence of Yunnan cuisine while expanding sales markets.
How can well-known Yunnan brands expand their market beyond the province and go abroad? Huang Zhimin, assistant to the chairman of Zhaotong Wanhe Food Co., Ltd., said their primary goal in attending CIIE was to learn. "Compared to similar products, Zhaotong soy sauce is not well-known enough. To improve the consumer experience, we must preserve the traditional craftsmanship of old brands while incorporating technological advancements."
CIIE provides great opportunities for companies to learn and exchange. Exhibitors take the chance to visit various pavilions to get more industry information and then improve their products based on consumer demands.
Yunnan State Farms Group brought star products such as tea, coffee, and potato chips. The small-packaged potato chips and distinct coffee highlight quality and personalization of products.
The person in charge of the trade section at Yunnan State Farms Coffee Co., Ltd. said that they have established a sales company in Shanghai. The food and agricultural section at CIIE gathered industry leaders, providing opportunities for exhibitors to learn and expanding cooperation with customers in Shanghai and around the world.
"At the Expo, you can directly observe the food consumption trends, which inspired our future innovations," said Zhou Fuying, the person responsible for the Yunnan Tonghai Sibejia Food Co., Ltd booth.
During the Expo, numerous exhibitors visited their booth and showed the highest interest in the flower cakes and soybean-powered candy. Based on old brands, the company insists on innovating, infusing Western and Chinese pastry-making techniques into making chocolate-flavored soybean-powered candy.
