Int’l passenger flow at Kunming airport swells by 719%

The Kunming airport in central Yunnan handled more than 1.25 million international passengers in 2023, an increase of 719% year on year.

As a major air communication hub for China to connect with South Asia, Southeast Asia and and Europe, the Kunming Changshui International Airport has opened more than 20 international routes.

Operating more than 320 international flights per week, the airport has seen a maximum passenger flow of 7,000 daily.

With the resumption of international flights and the introduction of visa-free policies between China, Thailand, Malaysia, France and other countries, the international passenger flow at Kunming airport will continue swelling.
