44 buried in NE Yunnan’s landslide

Initial verification shows that 44 people from 18 households were buried by a landslide in northeast Yunnan’s Zhaotong city.

Rescuers carry out the relief work.

The landslide occurred in Liangshui village of Zhenxiong county at 5:51 this morning, and Yunnan provincial authorities kicked off a third-level emergency response to the disaster.

So far, more than 200 have been evacuated, with the relief work being carried out by 10 loaders, 33 fire trucks and over 200 rescuers.
