Rural tourism booms in winter
Natural ice and snow resources become a sign of NE China, and the ice and snow economy is considered as one way to promote China's northeast revitalization.
As winter travel season peaks, travel destinations across China are actively developing rural tourism to attract more visitors.
According to Zhu Shengxuan, chairman of the Town Banwenlv Group, there are two main categories of winter rural tourism products. The first features huge geographic differences, trips to either the snow and ice landscape in northeast China or the warm areas in Hainan and Yunnan. Instead, the second aims to experience different local cultures and customs.
Lin Hanfei, deputy director of Kchance Tourism Group's Cultural Tourism Industry Research Institute, said many vacation sites have produced distinct rural tourism products for the winter season.
Visiting typical tourist attractions is no longer the only option. They would rather have a relaxing trip to enjoy the warm family time. People's diverse travel purposes continue to drive the development of rural tourism.
Lin Hanfei observed that immersive performances, night light displays, cultural and creative markets, and internet-trendy tourism destinations all enhance the rural tourism experience. Integrating consumption into sightseeing in rural areas has become a new trend.
For example, Tangjiahui town in Jinzhai county, east China's Anhui province, has built a tourism village based on its revolutionary spirit. By building Anhui's first metaverse-themed theater, the village provides guests with unique and immersive experiences to learn about history and local culture.
