Upgraded Alipay to serve more int’l tourists in China
Recently, Alipay app has been upgraded to support 16 languages, making it easier for foreign tourists to travel in China with just a smartphone.
These languages include French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian, Turkish, Malay, Indonesian, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, in addition to the existing Chinese and English.
A variety of convenient travel services tailored for inbound tourists are available in 16 languages on the Alipay homepage. These services include online translation, QR code payments, taxi hailing, hotel booking, attraction ticket purchases, public transportation, power bank rentals, and currency exchange, all accessible with a simple tap.
In the first half of this year, the consumption by inbound tourists using Alipay increased by eight times compared to the same period last year.
Alipay has recently introduced a new “touch and pay” experience: by tapping the merchant’s payment device, tourists can quickly complete their payment, enhancing their experience in China.
