Liu Xiaokai, chairman of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), expected that Yunnan and Barbados could continue people-to-people exchanges, expand economic and tourist cooperation, and promote the development of friendly relations.

Liu Xiaokai (right), chairman of the CPPCC Yunnan Provincial Committee, meets with Reginald Farley, president of the Senate of Barbados in Kunming, Yunnan province on December 15.

Liu expressed this expectation on December 15, during his meeting with Reginald Farley, president of the Senate of Barbados. Farley is in Yunnan to attend the ongoing third China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Blue Economy Development Cooperation 2024 in central Yunnan’s Kunming city.

He added by implementing the decisions made by the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, Yunnan province is opening up to the outside world at a high standard, and is deepening cooperation and exchanges with countries worldwide.

Liu Xiaokai welcomed Reginald Farley and his wife, and briefly introduced the situation in Yunnan Province. He said that in recent years, under the leadership of the leaders of China and Pakistan, the pragmatic cooperation between the two sides in economy, trade and humanities has achieved positive results.

Farley spoke highly of Barbados-China friendly relations and said that his country is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Yunnan for mutual benefits and win-win results.
